cat adoption
Name: Gertie
Age: 1 year old
Gender: F
Description: All black
Campus location: Micheal R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Rd., Fairfax, VA 22030)
How long they’ve been waiting for their new home: 1 month
Additional Notes: Gertie is FeLV+. Her previous adopters had to return her as they had another cat in the home. However, they said she is the sweetest, kindest, most cuddly cat and it devastated them to have to return her. She was originally part of a cat colony and came to us when the caregiver found her and her back legs weren’t working, suspect HBC. We are also planning to highlight her on our social media later this week so keep an eye out for that!

Bio:
Meet Gertie, a sleek and stunning solid-black “house panther” with a gentle spirit and a curious heart. Gertie is graceful, observant, and ready to bring a touch of elegance (and plenty of purrs!) to her new home. She’s the perfect companion for anyone who loves a classic black cat with tons of charm.

While in her previous home, Gertie was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. Gertie’s adopters will need to work closely with their veterinarian to ensure that she is feeling her best. Gertie should be the only cat in the home, or live with other leukemia positive cats.

Come meet Gertie and let this little panther steal your heart!
